Kid friendly christmas tree vs fancy tree question?
My husband and I are having an argument about our Christmas tree. I have collected Hallmark ornaments for the last 10 years and I put them out on my tree each year. We now have a daughter who is 19 months old and my husband has a 9 yr old son. Last year our daughter was too small to mess with the tree, but I know she will be into it this year. I still want to put out all my fancy ornaments and my husband is against this. He wants a more kid friendly tree that they can help decorate. I have always been really anal about my tree. It has to be perfect.
I have thought about getting two trees but I really don't have the extra money and room for a second tree.
How do you other moms out there do your Christmas tree? Do you compromise and do a mix of fancy ornaments and kid made ones?
My tree stays family friendly. Nothing is more fun than decorating the tree with the whole family.
Also, if you choose to set up all your fancy decor you will just be setting the kids up to "get into trouble" because anyone with kids knows they are going to want to look and touch and something is bound to get broken. Save them and yourself the trouble and make it fun for everyone.
It's not just "your tree" anymore; the kids should come first.
