What is this romantic tragedy set in the 1700s?
My husband saw a movie that is maybe an 18th century period piece set in the England/Scotland area of world. It's a romantic tragedy where at the end, the guy dies and the girl kills herself. While the guy is dying, he sends his friends to a castle to get the girl. When she goes there, he passes away in her lap. She asks to be alone with him and she stabs herself with a sword. He thinks it was released in the late 1990s/early 2000s. I realize that it's a pretty generic description, but any help finding this movie would be appreciated. Thanks!
It sounds like a spin off of some type of romeo and Juliette movie maybe???
