Kyleigh's Law, red stickers, and prom..?
I live in New Jersey, where we are forced to put a red sticker on our license plates to tell everyone we are under 21. Failure to do so is a $100 fine.
My prom is this week and I am very excited, but the problem is..I have the red sticker on my car and prom ends at the exact same time the curfew for provisional license holders starts.
If prom ends at 11, and I have to be off the road at 11... what should I do?
I don't want to leave prom early, and my mom cant drive me. Also I don't have any friends old enough either.
The taxi thing is not an option...I live in a VERY small town...there are no taxis, bus stops, anything in my town
I'm very sorry for your situation and I agree it sucks. I've also heard that NJ police are going to be setting up checkpoints on prom night, so you're going to be a sitting duck.
Your choices are to leave prom early in time to get home or travel to and from prom in a taxi, limo or other public transportation. The school really should have been more pro-active in light of this law and changed prom times.

You're pretty much hosed then. You may want to have a little chat with the mayor and see if the police are going to be forgiving on prom night or if they are going to adhere to the letter of the law. If they won't budge, your hands are tied. You're going to have to leave prom early if you have no other transportation options.
