I go to college to become an elementary school teacher - what do I need to buy for my class?
I tell myself that I should start buying things like books and supplies, and so if I start seeing them in the sales tag and so on. Which is usually already in classrooms? What supplies should I buy for my class?
I have been teaching for two years so far and one thing I learned is that more preparation you do best! Hit the garage sales in place, they are your best bet for cheap books and games. I'll make a list for you: 1). Dear books multi-level (Chapter & Video) 2. Games 3. plastic storage bins (I can not emphasize enough this one!) Get the kind that have drawers, you can store all the "craft materials" out there! 4. Pencils (hit up restaurants for the freebies) markers, crayons. 5. duct tape (do not laugh) 6. Son, ribbons, etc. 7. Fabric for funds bulletin board (you can make your decorations and use them several times) 6. Pencils, crayons, pencils. Did I tell pencils? 7. Rulers, calculators, erasers, etc. 8. A desk calendar (it will save you tail, trust me.) 9. Color code folders 10. Notebooks, looseleaf paper, construction, etc. 11. "Activity" books, coloring books - Make copies and use it as a quiet activity 12. stress balls, stuffed animal (for when a kiddo has a bad day) 13. Decorations your office that you agree, it becomes difficult when you need something to ground you! 14. Make sure you have a "teacher-use" Stapler Puncture / / etc. and a "student-use" version. I like to buy my students really fun and bright colored ones. Plus they take care him if they see it as "their":) That's all I can think of now. Honestly, all schools are different in the provision materials. Some will hang up with everything under the sun and others will give you a desk and a slap on the back.
