How do you get your artwork on the computer?

When I scan my artworks it turns funny with shadows and stuff, any ideas or tips????

Scanning it usually isn't good enough to preserve original colors and quality. You should invest in a tablet so you can draw digital pictures from scratch. If you don't feel comfortable with that, you can re-ink your scanned picture in photoshop.
